About Me

As a well-respected psychotherapist with over 40 years' experience with LGBTIQA+ clients, Dominic is recognised as an expert in Gender, Sex and Relationship Diverse topics.

I am a Fellow of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP) and an Accredited Supervisor with them. I am also a Fellow of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). Fellowship is the highest level of membership conferred by these professional bodies.

I was awarded the Lifetime Achievement at the Sexual Freedom Awards in 2018 and in 2021, awarded a Gold Medal by the University of Minnesota as one of 50 Distinguished Gender & Sexual Health Revolutionaries worldwide.

In 1998, I founded the organisation Pink Therapy where I remain CEO and Director of Training.

Areas of Special Interest

I specialise in working with Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity. My specialities include BDSM & Kink, Chemsex, and Clinical Sexology for Men who have Sex with Men (MSM). Recovery from Conversion Therapy practices and other abuse. Professional boundaries that are involved in living and working within the same community, as well as other ethical dilemmas.

Current Publications

With my colleague Charles Neal, I co-edited a trilogy of Pink Therapy textbooks (1996 & 2000) and in 2020, I was invited by Silva Neves to co-edit two more volumes, Erotically Queer and Relationally Queer were published by Routledge in April 2023. My other publications can be found on Adademic.edu including a pre-publication late draft of a chapter on GSRD Therapy for the 5th edition of the Sage Handbook of Counselling and Psychotherapy, where Silva and I outline the core-components of GSRD as an emergent modality.

We have just invited Professor Antonio Prunas (Milan-Bicocca) to assist us in editing the first textbook on GSRD Therapy.
